A Charities Fayre held at Thirsk Town Hall on the 29th October was a resounding success.

The Fayre was run by Volunteer Centre Thirsk, part of Thirsk Community Care Association, as part of celebrations for CSV Make a Difference Day, the national annual day of volunteering which gives people chance to make a difference in their community.

Around 15 local organisations had stalls at the Fayre to promote their need for volunteers and fundraise at the same time.

Refreshments were served by the Guide Association, and bulb planting was run by volunteers from Thirsk in Bloom and kindly sponsored by local plantsman Adam Jackson. People also enjoyed various tombolas, raffles, cake stalls and crafts.

A children’s painting competition sponsored by The Artist’s Palette was run by the Volunteer Centre to show how people can help others.
